TFWA strengthens Paris management team

FRANCE.  Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has strengthened its team in Paris as it seeks to enhance services to members, exhibitors and visitors to its events.

Myriem Chalabi, previously Customer Engagement Manager, has been appointed Exhibitions Director. Since joining TFWA in 2009, Chalabi has held several positions across marketing and exhibitions, most notably managing registration and customer relations at TFWA’s trade shows and conferences.

She will be responsible for sales, logistics, registration and sponsorship of the TFWA World and Asia Pacific Exhibitions. Chalabi will be supported by Exhibitions & Logistics Manager Françoise Parigi and Sales Supervisor Mona Lebrasseur – both in new roles – and Advertising & Sponsorship Manager Isabelle Régnier. Morgane Sekfali has also joined the team as Commercial Assistant. Meanwhile, International Exhibitions and Sales Manager Marissa Phanivong has left the association.

TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen hails several “well-deserved promotions” across the association’s management team

TFWA has appointed Ana Homawoo as IT and Technical Director, responsible for data protection compliance and security. Sylvie Guigue, currently Finance Director, has been given responsibility for Human Resources, with a particular focus on training.

“These are all well-deserved promotions.  Throughout her time with TFWA, Myriem has demonstrated her considerable organisational skills and determination to offer visitors to our events the best possible service,” commented TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen.

“Her principal task, supported by an experienced and knowledgeable team, will be to constantly improve our two major exhibitions and ensure they offer value both to exhibitors and delegates. The TFWA Board and I look forward very much to working with Myriem and her team on our upcoming events, starting at the MEADFA Conference in Dubai this month and at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in May.

“Ana, meanwhile, will help ensure that TFWA is positioned to adapt to a changing environment for event organisers, especially with regard to data protection and security. And Sylvie’s expanded role will enhance and facilitate the day-to-day running of the association.”

TFWA Managing Director John Rimmer added: “I am delighted for Myriem, who has proved herself to be a very committed, creative and hard-working member of the TFWA staff. She and the Exhibitions team are fully focused on delivering unmissable events that will provide a platform for our industry to develop, and I look forward very much to working closely with her.

“In her new technical role – in addition to her IT responsibilities – Ana has an equally vital part to play in the smooth running of our events, while Sylvie, as Finance and Human Resources Director, will help our Paris team to fulfil its considerable potential.”

Marketing Director Cécile Lamotte will remain as head of the TFWA Marketing department, while the association’s conferences are overseen by Conference Manager Michele Miranda and John Rimmer.
