Tee time: HMSHost opens PGA Tour Grill at Jacksonville International Airport

USA. HMSHost has unveiled a PGA Tour Grill restaurant at Jacksonville International Airport. The restaurateur has partnered with PGA Tour, the organiser of the main North American professional golf circuit, for the opening.

The Concourse C outlet, said to celebrate an ‘Eat Smarter, Play Harder’ motto, aims to offer travellers a taste of Northeast Florida’s golfing history along with healthy food in a clubhouse-style restaurant.

HMSHost Vice President Business Development Stephen Douglas said: “With the PGA Tour national headquarters in nearby Ponte Vedra Beach, and some of the country’s top golf destinations in the local region, Jacksonville International Airport is the perfect location to bring the PGA Tour Grill experience to the millions of visitors and locals flying in and out of the airport.

“HMSHost is excited to continue our partnership with Jacksonville International Airport and our joint venture partner, Lee Wesley Group, to enhance the airport with the best dining choices in the industry.”

Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Steve Grossman commented: “The PGA Tour Grill highlights Northeast Florida’s golf scene, one of our region’s main leisure attractions. Restaurants such as these are one of the many reasons Jacksonville International Airport was voted North America’s #1 airport for customer satisfaction.”

The PGA Tour Grill’s interior includes images of the Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass and numerous big-screen televisions showcasing live championship action, tournament highlights, and Golf Channel programming.

The restaurant’s menu, created by HMSHost executive chefs with a focus on using healthy ingredients, includes the Power Salad with quinoa, marinated tomato, roasted peppers, garbanzos, arugula, avocado, and herbs. ‘Heart-healthy’ and gluten-free dishes are highlighted.

PGA Tour Senior Vice President Licensing & New Ventures Lance Stover said: “We are thrilled to bring PGA Tour Grill to Jacksonville International Airport. We’ve been extremely pleased by the success and growth of the PGA Tour Grill concept, thanks to the expertise of HMSHost. The First Coast has such a rich golf history which we look forward to celebrating while offering visitors the great healthy food choices for which the PGA Tour Grill is known.”

HMSHost and the PGA Tour opened the first PGA Tour Grill at San Diego International Airport in 2014 and have expanded to other US airport locations.

HMSHost food & beverage outlets at Jacksonville International Airport include Shula’s Bar & Grill and Starbucks.
