TAV Operation Services completes acquisition of GIS shares

EUROPE. TAV Operation Services (TAV OS), already majority shareholder of Barcelona-based airport hospitality company Gestió i Serveis Trade Center (GIS) since January 2019, has now increased its stake to 94.15%.

The move, said TAV OS (a TAV Airports subsidiary), strengthens GIS financially and advances the integration of the two companies. It also supports TAV OS’ ambitious growth plans in Spain and across Europe.

Güçlü Batkın, CEO of TAV OS and President of GIS said, “We thrive by offering a unique and seamless customer journey to provide a hassle-free travel experience all around the world. We are observing a moderate sign of rebound and expecting stronger results as some destinations ease travel restrictions and vaccination rollout is advanced in many parts of the world.

“We have already started to welcome passengers safely and responsibly in our lounges. Our recent action of increasing our stake in GIS is a sign of our ambition for further growth. We appreciate our valuable partner AENA for their continuous support, and the GIS team for bringing in-depth operational experience and insights. TAV OS aims for bold growth in Europe and the rest of the world, and this transaction will enable us to seize opportunities for a widespread deployment of our current value proposition and an expansion of our network.”

As reported, GIS officially opened a new lounge under the HelloSky brand name at Milan Bergamo Airport in June.
