HONG KONG. Global Link Retail Management has partnered with Michelin-starred Chef Takashi Saito to open Sushi Taka at Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 1, as first flagged in our Image of the Day feature last week.
The Edomae-style sushi and sake bar opened on 31 December, as sister brand of Chef Saito’s three Michelin-starred (for 11 consecutive years) restaurant Sushi Saito in Tokyo.
Sushi Taka offers diners fine sushi, with signature tuna sourced from the Yamayuki group. It also imports fresh seafood, seasonal ingredients and specialist varieties of sushi rice from Japan each day.
The extensive sake offer includes rare items from leading Japanese wine industry group Hasegawa Saketen, to help create an authentic Japanese experience.
Global Link Retail Management said: “Fresh produce is selected from the famous Yamayuki group, known as the ‘King of Tuna Fish’ in Tokyo. Along with the sushi rice, rice vinegar, soy sauce and fish processing methods controlled by Chef Saito, Sushi Taka presents the delicious Edomae Sushi to everyone, with our highlights the tuna dishes.”
Features of the restaurant include a sushi bar, dine-in or takeaway services, with the design developed in a Japanese minimalist style.
