TAIWAN. Leading travel retailer Tasa Meng Corporation has marked the fifth anniversary of its Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport charity store by donating NT$4.8 million (approximately US$160,000) among six charities.
Tasa Meng Chairman Nancy Ku underlined the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility commitment. She encouraged local enterprises and other duty free retailers to help the needy, even when business is tough.
The donations were presented to the charities at a ceremony at the airport’s Terminal 2 on 4 December.
The funds will support the Hope Foundation, whose programmes includes cancer education and a resource centre, and the Taiwan Breast Cancer Foundation.
The Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation provides comprehensive services for burn survivors and people with facial disfigurement and the Taiwan Prevent Blindness Foundation aims to upgrade Taiwan’s ophthalmology services.
The Children Are Us Foundation focuses on individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and the Taiwan Black Bear Conservation Association aims to protect the endangered Formosan species.
Earlier this year Tasa Meng took part in an event that supported 19 charities for the disable in Kaohsiung.
