Tangle Teezer targets travel retail growth with Harper Dennis Hobbs

Strategic retail advisory consultancy Harper Dennis Hobbs (HDH) and hairbrush brand Tangle Teezer have announced a new partnership in travel retail.

Through the collaboration, HDH will manage the Tangle Teezer portfolio and spearhead any new developments in the channel.

Tangle Teezer was founded by hair colourist Shaun Pulfrey in London in 2007 and has since developed into a global brand which has sold over 50 million hairbrushes worldwide.

Its product range includes detangling hairbrushes, blow-drying and styling tools, all made using ‘teeth technology’, which the brand claims is not available on any other hairbrush.

‘Most-wanted’ products include Lavender Life Scalp Exfoliator and Massager, The Ultimate Styler and Tickled Pink Large Easy Dry & Go.

HDH Executive Managing Director Simon Black said: “We are honoured to be working alongside Tangle Teezer. They have been very successful launching in travel retail over the last few years in inflight, airports and cruise, and we are excited to grow this brand further in North and South America, the Middle East and Europe.

Black believes there is “huge potential” for Tangle Teezer in travel retail.

He added: “Tangle Teezer could not be a more perfect fit for travel retail with its fantastic product range, price points and eye catching point of sale fixtures.

“It establishes itself perfectly within the beauty and wellbeing space which we see innovating strongly at the moment, with operators and customers looking for proven concepts that will commercially fill these spaces within travel retail.”

Tangle Teezer CEO James Vowles said: “We’re delighted to have appointed Harper Dennis Hobbs to manage our travel retail portfolio. We are really impressed by their knowledge of the sector and passion for the brand.”
