Tallinn Airport calls duty free retail tender

ESTONIA. Tallinn Airport has called a tender for a new duty free retail concession.

The contract will run between seven to ten years, starting from 1 January 2018. Applications will be accepted until 29 November at 12am Estonian time.

The new agreement will cover a 800sq m main store after the security check, a 100sq m store in the Schengen area, and a 70sq m shop in the non-Schengen area.

Commercial Concessions Sales manager Katri Keian said the airport was “already in contact with major duty free operators in Europe” and was expecting bids next month. The winner will be announced no later than 11 January 2017.

The successful bidder will be expected to provide the following products in store:

1. Alcoholic beverages

2. Tobacco and cigars

3. Confectionary

4. Perfumery

5. Fashion

6. Fashion accessories

7. Jewellery

Inflight Service Estonia is the current duty free concessionaire at Tallinn Airport, having secured a five-year extension to its contract in 2012. The retailer is a division of Stockholm-based retailer and distributor Inflight Service.

The agreement covered a 538sq m main store, an 85sq m last-minute store, plus a 75sq m non-Schengen store. These offer spirits, tobacco, confectionery, fragrances and cosmetics.
