ESTONIA. Tallink Group has struck an agreement with Bestseller Finland to acquire the franchise rights for fashion brands Jack & Jones and Vero Moda in Estonia. The move extends the company’s shore-based retail activity – it gained the rights for fashion brand Esprit in February – and offers expansion opportunities for the brands on its vessels.
As part of the agreement, Tallink will add to its network of shops in Tallinn, one in the Ülemiste shopping centre and one in the Rocca Al Mare shopping centre.
The company said it aims “to develop even stronger partnerships with well-known brands” and highlighted the 56% contribution that retail and dining makes to its revenues.
“Retail has an important part to play in Tallink Group’s success,“ said CEO Paavo Nõgene. “Dozens of strong brands are represented onboard our vessels. The continuous development and expansion of our product range is something we work on on a daily basis. In addition to retail activity onboard, we have also been active in the retail sector on-shore for a number of years, albeit to a more limited extent. We are confident that the on-shore shops will now form a strong foundation for further developing our retail activities and there will be more news to share on this in the future.“
Tallink Duty Free Head Aimar Pärna said: “Jack & Jones and Vero Moda are both well-known fashion brands, which have been popular among our Estonian customers for many years. Adding these two brands will add variety to our portfolio and our offering to our customers.“
Pärna added: “These two franchise agreements will not be the last ones for us as we already have a few more potential partners and agreements in sight.”
