DENMARK. Copenhagen Airport has added dedicated gin bar The Bird to its selection of food & beverage outlets. It is part of a promised expansion of ‘local hero’ eateries and drinks venues at the Nordic hub.
The trendy bar made its debut earlier this week at Pier B in the expanded Terminal 2. The Bird – which has three downtown locations in the capital – features a number of niche Danish and global gins such as Orange, Four Pillars and Ferdinand’s & Saar, plus local craft beer from Kissmeyer and Theodor Schiøtz.
This summer will see around ten F&B arrivals at the airport. The aim is to give passengers – particularly those transiting – the best representation of Danish restaurants and bars from Copenhagen’s vibrant culinary and bar scene, even if they never visit the city.
According to market analyst Technavio (click here for the company’s report) the global gin market – across all channels – will grow at a CAGR of more than +3% between 2018-2022.
