The Terminal 2 space, which will operate until 31 March 2020, features handmade bars of Swiss chocolate, pralines and truffles. Four chocolate bars are available exclusively at the pop-up: dark chocolate with coconut chips and roasted almonds; milk chocolate with caramel, Fleur de Sel and caramelised hazelnuts; white chocolate with raspberry flakes and white chocolate with almonds and pistachios.

Sprüngli Executive Board Chairman Tomas Prenosil described Munich Airport as the “ideal place” for the brand to present its chocolates in Germany.

“As a premium Swiss brand, we share common values such as a comprehensive concept of quality and service, as well as a sense of exclusivity and sustainable visions,” he said.

Sprüngli specialises in handcrafted chocolates, all produced in Dietikon, Switzerland

Munich Airport Director of Center Management Philipp Ahrens said: “Sprüngli is a renowned Swiss chocolatier with world-class products. The exclusivity and quality of the brand makes it a perfect fit for Munich Airport’s premium range of products. We are delighted that in Sprüngli, we have found the ideal partner to stand at our side,” he said.

Sprüngli’s chocolate production dates back to 1836. A Swiss family business steeped in tradition, Sprüngli is now headed by Milan and Tomas Prenosil in its sixth generation.

Its products, with ingredients including Swiss milk, Grand Cru chocolate, caramelised Piedmont hazelnuts roasted in copper pots, almonds, pistachios and raisins, are handcrafted in Dietikon, Switzerland and available in over 25 Sprüngli stores across Switzerland and the UAE.

Confiserie Sprüngli and Chocolat Sprüngli (which later became Lindt & Sprüngli) were separated in 1892 and have been distinct businesses ever since.
