“I’d like to thank Airport Authority Hong Kong for their support in opening our latest Sunglass Hut store, in a partnership we value greatly,” said Sunglass Hut Asia Director Roberto Cristiani.

“We are justifiably excited by the potential for our brand at HKIA, especially given the exceptional performance of our stores in other major hub airports such as Singapore and London Heathrow. Sunglass Hut is committed to an ambitious expansion plan within Asia Pacific travel retail and Hong Kong is one of the most important flagship locations.”

In 2012, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) set new records in both passenger volume and flight movements, welcoming a total of 56.5 million passengers and handling 352,000 aircraft movements.

Airport Authority Hong Kong General Manager, Retail and Advertising, Albert Yau added: “Sunglass Hut is a globally-recognised and much sought after brand in retail and a true innovator when it comes to merchandising and in-store experience in the sunglasses category.

“We are excited about this opening and our new partnership with Sunglass Hut. The new store is a perfect fit within our overall retail offering.”
