Summit of the Americas show to stay in Orlando post 2018 event

Michael Payne: “The decision to stay [in Orlando] was based on a number of factors, including cost to suppliers, convenience and input from members”
AMERICAS. The Duty Free & Travel Retail Summit of the Americas, the new event formed by a fusion of the Duty Free of the Americas and the ASUTIL conference, will stay in the city of Orlando through 2019 and 2020. However, it will move to a new downtown hotel location from this year’s venue, the Orlando World Center Marriott.

International Association of Airport Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) President & CEO Michael Payne told The Moodie Davitt Report: “The new location has more private rooms, but we will retain an exhibition hall. It simply gives us more options for some meeting rooms.

“The decision to stay [in Orlando] was based on a number of factors, including cost to suppliers, convenience and input from members.”

This year’s 2018 Summit of the Americas takes place from 18-21 March. As reported, the event marries an exhibition with several Executive Conference sessions. Speakers include Dufry Group CEO Julián Díaz; AOE Founder and CEO Kian Gould; and Portland Design Director of Environments Lewis Allen. The sessions take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings at the Summit.
