Strong line-up of speakers set for virtual Airport Food & Beverage Conference

INTERNATIONAL. A powerful line-up of speakers has been gathered for the virtual Airport Food & Beverage Conference on 12-13 September, hosted by The Moodie Davitt Report. Registration is free and can be made via this link.

A powerful line-up of thought leaders includes Heathrow Airport Retail Director Fraser Brown, Avinor Commercial Director Terminal Areas Iskra Skram, SSP Group CEO Patrick Coveney, Areas Chief Corporate Officer Montse Adán, Autogrill Group CEO Europe Andrea Cipolloni and HMSHost International CEO Walter Seib.
Other key concessionaire names include Travel Food Services Executive Director Varun Kapur and Lagardère Travel Retail Group EVP Foodservice & CSR Mélanie Guilldou.

The senior commercial team from Bangalore International Airport Limited will discuss the ‘terminal in a garden’ concept in the new Bengaluru Kempegowda Airport T2, with an emphasis on the dining offer.

The event will also focus on diversity & inclusion. As reported, earlier this year minority-owned small business Concord Collective made history at Los Angeles International Airport as the first Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) business to take over the entire portfolio of a major food & beverage concession operator.

At FAB 2022, airport company, retail developer and concessionaire will discuss how to forge a pathway for smaller, local, minority players to manage major airport dining concessions in the US. Speakers include Los Angeles World Airports Deputy Executive Director Commercial Development Dave Jones, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Executive Vice President and Group Director, Airports Mike Salzman and Concord Collective CEO & Managing Partner Greg Plummer.

Also speaking will be celebrity chef, mixologist and pioneer in the bar-chef movement Kathy Casey.

A highlight of the 2021 FAB virtual event, FAB Women, will again be a key session this year, with a focus on the achievements of female leaders in the sector. The final list of speakers will be named shortly.

The Moodie Davitt Report is also co-organising a special session in partnership with influential North American concessionaire representative body the Airport Restaurant & Retail Association. Full speaker details, featuring a mix of airport and concessionaire representatives, will follow shortly.

Smart Design CEO Nick Baker will give a designer’s view of the future of travel dining, with an emphasis on how sustainability fits with airport, concessionaire and consumer trends.

The two-day event will be rounded off by the people-focused FAB Superstars Awards.

The awards, introduced in 2021, will again shine the spotlight on the thousands of front-of-house and behind the scenes heroes and heroines who have helped keep the food & beverage community within our industry going throughout the challenges of the last year.

FAB pillar sponsors for 2022 include leading travel F&B players Autogrill/HMSHost, SSP and Areas.
