Starboard Cruise Services launches destination-driven programme onboard Silversea Cruises new vessel

EUROPE. LVMH company Starboard Cruise Services has introduced a destination-driven retail offer onboard Silversea Cruises’ newest ship, Silver Moon.

The leading cruise retailer said it has developed “a distinct blend of renowned brands, limited editions, artisanal goods and exclusive local treasures” to the Silversea Cruises luxury flagship, which welcomed its first guests on 18 June in Greece. The retail space features three boutiques displaying jewellery, apparel, handbags, fragrances, cosmetics, travel essentials and other offerings.

“The debut of Silver Moon signals a new era of ultra-luxury travel, and the retail programme Starboard designed contributes to that narrative,” says Silversea President and CEO Roberto Martinoli

“We collaborated with Silversea Cruises to design a retail experience to spark voyagers’ wanderlust with exclusive artisanal creations not found back home,” said Starboard President and CEO Lisa Bauer. “The focus on locally sourced offerings will appeal to Silversea guests’ love of travel, sense of curiosity and desire for adventure.”

The Silver Moon retail programme is the first designed by Starboard’s Luxury Division, which was launched to deliver experiential retail “that cultivates unique memories for sophisticated, experienced, affluent travellers” according to the retailer.

The destination shopping concept debuts on Silver Moon and will expand fleetwide, including a rotation of assortments sourced from Silversea’s over 900 ports-of-call.

The mix houses local handcrafted and artisanal products from the Greek Isles such as accessories made from recycled olive wood; embroidered hats, tops and kaftans; and extra virgin olive oil, natural cosmetics and body soaps. Mediterranean offerings include one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces from the Red Coral Artisanal Jewelry Collection. This originates from atrophied coral whose colour was transformed by a volcanic eruption over 100 years ago off the coast of Sicily.

“The debut of Silver Moon signals a new era of ultra-luxury travel, and the retail programme Starboard designed contributes to that narrative,” said Silversea Cruises President and CEO Roberto Martinoli. “The artisanal shopping aligns with the ship’s exclusivity – intimate experience – enhancing the onboard guest journey.”

Silver Moon is sailing a series of ten-night Greek Isles trips with calls to Santorini, Paros, Mykonos, Crete, and Cyprus.
