Swiss premium confectionery house Lindt & Sprüngli, an exhibitor at the forthcoming Moodie Davitt Virtual Travel Retail Expo (see below), is to officially open the Lindt Home of Chocolate on 13 September.
The Lindt Home of Chocolate has been described as a “unique chocolate competence centre”. It will feature interactive exhibitions, a nine-metre chocolate fountain, a Lindt Café and the world’s largest Lindt boutique.
It will also give visitors a rare peek into Lindt’s chocolate production processes through the research facility, and offer hands-on chocolate courses from Lindt’s Master Chocolatiers at the Chocolateria.
The interactive exhibition is spread across 1,500sq m. It is divided into themes embracing cocoa cultivation, the history of chocolate, Swiss chocolate pioneers and chocolate production. The exhibition concludes at the Chocolate Heaven tasting room, where guests can sample a wide array of Lindt & Sprüngli products.
The Lindt Home of Chocolate is a project of the Lindt Chocolate Competence Foundation and aims to engage and educate the public about chocolate. The company says that more than CHF100 million (US$106.3 million) have been invested in the project, which is located in Lindt & Sprüngli’s Kilchberg headquarters.
The company hopes that the Lindt Home of Chocolate will become the world’s foremost chocolate destination for locals, tourists and chocolate connoisseurs from all around the world.
Lindt Chocolate Competence Foundation Board President Ernst Tanner commented, “With the construction of the Lindt Home of Chocolate, we have created a Chocolate Competence Centre that is unique in Switzerland and will strengthen the innovation of our industry over the long term.”
Lindt & Sprüngli is a Silver Partner at the inaugural Moodie Davitt Virtual Travel Retail Expo, adding more lustre to an already stellar line-up of exhibitors in the confectionery and food sector.

The unique 5-day ‘live’ event, followed by a 30-day showcase, begins on 12 October, just after the conclusion of the Chinese Golden Week holidays. It features a star-studded series of events across the five days, including a Symposium, category workshops and a new consumer research initiative.
