SSP UK adds four new F&B outlets at London Bridge railway station

UK. SSP UK is opening four new outlets – Grind, M&S Simply Food, Starbucks and Urban Express – at London Bridge railway station this year.

The Urban Express food, news and wine concept made its debut at London Bridge last month. It has been developed by SSP specifically for the travel market and offers a selection of products from premium UK brands. Wine merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd presents a selection of wines in full, half and quarter bottles; COOK offers a range of homemade frozen-ready meals and Foyles’ books include the retailer’s ‘top picks’.

Urban Express also offers ‘Good to Go’ meals which include a sandwich, a choice of crisps or confectionery, and a drink. SSP said it plans to open Urban Express outlets at other locations in the future.

The Grind is scheduled to open in the autumn. The café-bar, serving food, coffee and cocktails, will be the London-based group’s first in a travel location.

M&S Simply Food is due to open in the summer and Starbucks will open later in the year. The coffee specialist’s store will be the first in the UK travel market to offer Nitro Cold Brew, a coffee slow-steeped and infused with nitrogen to offer a “sweet flavour and smooth taste”.

SSP UK CEO Simon Smith said: “We are delighted to be opening these four new brands at London Bridge and to be part of the investment in this exciting new development project. These innovative brands have been carefully selected to complement the offer at the station and meet the aspirations of Network Rail and its customers.”

SSP was honoured at last week’s 2018 FAB Awards in Helsinki. Click here to read full details on the FAB Awards.
