SSP puts together creative and varied F&B offer at Düsseldorf Airport

GERMANY. SSP is in the midst of opening seven food & beverage units at Düsseldorf Airport after winning a contract expected to generate a turnover of €112 million.

The company is also opening a 3,000sq m conference centre, ‘DUSconference plus’, in May.

SSP has already unveiled a Jamie’s Deli (pictured below) and Jamie’s Deli Van at the airport, as well as a 400sq m Hausmann’s restaurant developed by Patrick Rüther and popular German television chef Tim Mälzer.

French café épi, patisserie 4Cani and Mosaic (pictured below) – which was developed especially for the airport and “offers a dash of the culinary arts of the Middle East” – complete the line-up of already-opened outlets. The offer will be finalised with the opening of a KFC outlet in March and another bar in 2019.

Food from any of SSP’s outlets can be delivered to guests using the new conference centre. The centre can accommodate up to 740 people and features 10 conference and meeting rooms, 15 boardrooms, a web corner and plug-in workstations as well as three foyers for business meetings or events and exhibitions. It also offers direct views of the airfield in certain places.

“As Germany’s third-largest airport and the key hub in North Rhine-Westphalia, Düsseldorf Airport is an important partner for us, and we have already working closely and successfully with the team here for a number of years,” said SSP DACH Chief Commercial Officer Jan-Henrik Andersson.

“As operators of the conference centre, in partnership with Düsseldorf Airport, we are delighted to be building on this successful partnership.”

SSP was already present at the airport with a Caffè Ritazza and two Kamps bakeries.
