SSP plans twin openings for Tortilla and Starbucks at London Euston station

UK. Travel food & beverage specialist SSP Group will open two new outlets for Tortilla and Starbucks at London Euston train station in early December.

This will be the Tortilla brand’s debut in a travel environment. The Mexican restaurant chain, which operates 45 outlets in the UK and Middle East, mainly specialises in burritos and tacos. Fillings such as pollo asado, carnitas and salsa roja are served with Californian-inspired extras including black beans, lime-cilantro rice and freshly chopped jalapeños.

Tortilla is the UK’s fastest-growing Mexican restaurant chain and has recently expanded into three Middle East locations

Tortilla was founded by two Californians in 2007 after a four-year search across London to find the burritos and tacos they had experienced in San Francisco, described by SSP as the burrito capital of the world.

Meanwhile, the latest addition to Starbucks’ fast-growing travel location portfolio will be housed on Euston’s balcony area, offering customers views across the main floor of the busy London station. It will become Starbucks’ largest store at a Network Rail station.

SSP said the store will provide comfortable seating and free wifi, with its staple main offer of a full range of whole bean coffees, premium teas and fine pastries and light meals.

SSP UK & Ireland Business Development Director Andy Webb said: “We’re delighted to have added high-street favourite Tortilla to our list of brand partners. This new unit, alongside a bigger and better Starbucks, will be exciting new additions to the food and beverage offer at Euston, and we’re confident they will be well received by travellers passing through the station as well as those who live and work in the area.”
