SSP announces acquisition of German travel catering business Stockheim

GERMANY. SSP Group has agreed to acquire part of the Stockheim Group, a travel concessions business based in Germany.

Stockheim operates 25 food & beverage outlets in airports and railway stations, including at Düsseldorf and Cologne. It recorded sales of approximately €30 million in 2016.

SSP said the entities it was acquiring were Stockheim (Hbf.-Köln) GmbH and Stockheim Systemgastronomie GmbH & Co. KG. The deal is subject to clearance by German anti-trust authorities.

If approved, SSP said the acquisition would strengthen its presence in travel locations across Germany. It expects the transaction to be completed in early 2018. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are delighted to have acquired Stockheim,” said SSP Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France CEO Oliver Dörschuck. “The business has some great brands operating in some key locations across Germany.”
