Speaker line-up for 2019 Summit of the Americas is revealed; exhibitor numbers top 100

AMERICAS. IAADFS and ASUTIL – the duty free and travel retail associations based in Washington, DC and Montevideo respectively – have announced the full line-up of speakers for the three Executive Conference Sessions at the 2019 Duty Free & Travel Retail Summit of the Americas ( 24-27 March).

The sessions will take place at the Hyatt Regency Orlando in Florida on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (25-27 March) from 8.30 to 10.00.

On Monday after the welcome and official opening by Motta Internacional CEO and IAADFS Chairman Erasmo Orillac, and by Dufry do Brasil and Bolivia CEO and President of ASUTIL Gustavo Fagundes, there will follow a 9am Buyer and Supplier Panel lasting an hour.

Entitled Plotting a Positive Travel Retail Future in an Uncertain World, the session will include a strong list of speakers: L’Oréal Managing Director Duty Free & Travel Retail Americas Yannick Raynaud; Brown-Forman Beverages Worldwide Senior Vice President and Managing Director Marshall Farrer; JT International Worldwide Duty Free Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager Mariana Stangl; Dufry Americas Divisional CEO Latin America & Caribbean René Riedi.

The session will be moderated by The Moodie Davitt Report Founder and Chairman Martin Moodie.

On Tuesday, the morning conference is entitled Meet the Millennials: The Tourists to Change It All. Author and Business Strategist Barbara Wold from Barbara Wold International will lead the speakers followed by industry analyst m1nd-set’s CEO & Co-Owner Peter Mohn, and Project Manager Anna Marchesini. They will look at duty free and travel retail shopper behaviour and the expectations of different generations.

The final Wednesday session will be led by Copa Holdings and Copa Airlines CEO Pedro Heilbron, who will present his overview of the airline market and the outlook for Latin American aviation.

International Air Transport Association Regional Vice President – the Americas, Peter Cerdá will look at the state of the air transport industry in the region. The closing presentation will comes from M&S Consultores Director Carlos Melconian who will be asking: What Can We Expect from the United States, Brazil and Argentina in 2019?

Participation in the Executive Conference Sessions is open to all registered attendees.

Exhibitors move past the 100 mark
