Sisley targets millennials with “reinvented” SisleYouth Anti-Pollution

French beauty brand Sisley has extended its SisleYouth line with an energising and hydrating unisex skincare product to combat pollution and preserve youthful skin.

Sisley said its SisleYouth Anti-Pollution Blue Light Shield acts as a screen against the harmful effects of new technologies.

Introducing SisleYouth: “A breath of fresh air for skin”.

The product’s launch in travel retail is backed by new marketing material and campaigns.

Sisley launched SisleYouth in 2014. The unisex product was designed to “preserve youth potential in 25 to 35 year olds with hectic lifestyles”.

“Since then, millennials’ lives have grown increasingly fast-paced,” the company said. “In this digital age, more than ever, their skin must face many aggressions, most of which are invisible.

“Outdoors and even indoors, pollution has a direct and visible impact on the skin. As new technologies emerge, the skin is becoming exposed to a new form of digital pollution caused by blue light from devices.”

Sisley said it has “reinvented” SisleYouth to help protect skin from excessive exposure to blue light.

“Science has already proven that blue light is dangerous for the eyes by linking it to age-related macular degeneration. However its effects on the skin are still little known,” the brand said.

“Advancements in scientific research have demonstrated that excessive exposure to blue light from smartphone, tablet and TV screens accelerates skin ageing. This colour of light penetrates more deeply than harmful UVA rays, entering all of the skin’s layers and causing oxidative stress to skin cells.”

SisleYouth aims to offer a shield against the harmful effects of all kinds of pollution.

SisleYouth Anti-Pollution includes antioxidant Organic Buckwheat seed extract and Organic Ginkgo biloba leaf extract. Pea extract acts as a ‘bodyguard’ to enhance skin’s resistance and Vitamin E derivative strengthens the skin’s natural defences.

The product also includes Ginseng extract, which is known for its invigorating properties, and Kiwi extract to nourish the skin.

The SisleYouth Anti-Pollution launch is backed by new promotional materials and sample campaigns, featured here at Brussels Airport.

According to Sisley, the skin’s youth potential needs caring for over the course of a lifetime; ample hydration is a must from the age of 25 to keep skin supple and plump. SisleYouth contains plant-based sugar which promotes water storage and, combined with the Organic Buckwheat seed extract, helps to moisturise the skin.

The formula is completed by Shea butter, which is rich in essential fatty acids, and notes of Lavender and Litsea cubeba essential oils.

Sisley said its SisleYouth Anti-Pollution can be applied morning and night and can moisturise skin from the first application. The product features a new metallic blue cap, to underline its action against the effects of blue light.
