INDIA. S Shriram, the much-respected Senior Manager – Travel Retail at Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) is leaving the company to join Café Coffee Day (www.cafecoffeeday.com), India’s largest café chain as General Manager – Key Alliances.

Shriram, who leaves at the end of October, has played a major role in the formulation of the commercial offer at the new Bengaluru International Airport, which opened in May 2008.

Bengaluru has been among the vanguard of new-generation Indian airports, putting a major emphasis on the development of quality consumer services to help drive commercial revenues.

He told The Moodie Report: “Café Coffee Day operates at all major domestic and international airports in India and hence I will continue to stay connected with the ever-exciting travel retail Industry.”

He noted: “I would like to thank all my business associates, partners, concessionaires, architects, media persons and most importantly, my colleagues at BIAL, especially my former Chief Commercial Officer Stephan Widrig, who recruited and trained me to take on higher responsibilities.”
