Shiseido has underlined the importance of prestige beauty products in the travel retail market, as it prepares to introduce a new wave of channel exclusives.
In revealing the company’s latest exclusives Shiseido Travel Retail Vice-President Marketing Elisabeth Jouguelet noted: “Travel retail exclusives are integral to our strategy to differentiate our offering and create travel retail icons.”
Looking ahead to the Spring/Summer 2017 range, Shiseido will launch Shiseido White Lucent Total Brightening Day & Night Set exclusively to travel retail. The set will comprise White Lucent All Day Brightener SPF 36; Micro Targeting Spot Corrector; MultiBright Night Cream, all in 50ml.
The White Lucent range is formulated with Double Strike PROApproachx2 brightening technology. Using the SAKURAResist complex derived from cherry blossoms the technology works to create melanin-resistant skin, helping to improve existing dark spots and prevent future ones.
The All Day Brightener SPF36, a new addition to the range, is a day time moisturiser that brightens skin while protecting it from UV rays and air pollution.
The Micro Targeting Spot Corrector is an intensive anti-spot serum that, as the name suggests, targets and diminishes each spot individually to make the complexion appear more translucent.
Multi-Bright Night Cream works during the skin’s overnight cycle to reduce both the appearance of dark spots and also acne scars.
Shiseido Rouge Rouge, a collection of 16 red lipsticks which launched to travel retail in July, will also introduce a travel retail exclusive from December 2016: Shiseido Rouge Rouge Trio Set. The set will feature Ruby Copper (a vivid warm bright red); Murrey (a cool, reddish coral) and Hushed Tones (a warm, pinkish brown).
Using Shiseido’s Vibrant Red technology, the versatile shades enhance red light and red pigments to complement various skin tones. The formula contains a highly refined synthetic mica, used here in lipstick for the first time, that smooths and adds lustre to lips without drying them out.
In January 2017 the Shiseido UV Protection Compact Foundation Duo will become available as a travel retail exclusive duo set. The newly reformulated foundation can be used wet or dry, contains anti-aging properties and protects skin from external aggressors such as UV rays and pollution.
Following the introduction of Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate in a travel retail exclusive jumbo format, from January 2017 Clé de Peau Beauté Essential Correcting Refiner will be available in 250ml exclusively to travel retail.
The multi-benefit Refiner contains Illuminating Complex to add radiance and Surface Refining Complex to improve coarse, stressed skin. It also moisturises, controls excess sebum, diminishes the appearance of pores and acts as a make-up primer.
In Spring/Summer 2017 the Clé de Peau Beauté Intensive Eye Contour Cream will launch in a travel retail exclusive duo set. The cream has been newly formulated to deliver gentle moisture to the eye area while improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and brightening, contouring and toning. A platinum massage wand is added with which to apply the cream.
