Shiseido Travel Retail names Evelyne Ly-Wainer as Vice-President Business Development

Ly-Wainer is charged with identifying trends and developing strategic growth opportunities for Shiseido’s travel retail portfolio

Shiseido Travel Retail has appointed Evelyne Ly-Wainer to the position of Vice-President Business Development.

Ly-Wainer, based in Singapore and reporting to Shiseido Travel Retail President Philippe Lesné, is responsible for identifying trends and developing strategic growth opportunities for the company’s travel retail portfolio of skincare, make-up and fragrance brands.

She will work closely with the global marketing team and regional general managers based in Singapore, Miami and Paris to find new ways to engage with global shoppers and accelerate growth in the channel.

Ly-Wainer, a MBA graduate from the prestigious HEC Paris, joins from L’Oréal Group, where she spent over 13 years in various Asia Pacific marketing and brand management roles.

Before entering the beauty industry, she spent more than two years at BNP Paribas Securities Services as a mergers and acquisitions (M&A) analyst.

 As reported Shiseido Group has divided the world into six regional entities under its Vision 2020 corporate plan, with Travel Retail recognised as a territory in its own right.

Shiseido Travel Retail, created on 1 May 2016, is headquartered in Singapore and has adopted a ‘Think Global, Act Local’ approach in cultivating each brand based on region and market-specific needs.

The company’s portfolio includes skincare brands Shiseido, Clé de Peau Beauté, Anessa and Aupres; make-up brands NARS and bareMinerals; and fragrances Issey Miyake, Narciso Rodriguez, Elie Saab, Alaïa and Zadig & Voltaire. It also handles niche fragrance Serge Lutens and Burberry via a distribution agreement in selected European and Asia Pacific travel retail markets.
