Shilla IPark duty free launches Spring Shopping Festival for Golden Week

SOUTH KOREA. HDC Shilla Duty Free Shop is launching a ‘Spring Shopping Festival’ at Shilla IPark in time for the Golden Week holidays in May.

Customers will be able to enjoy a “one-stop shopping experience with three themes”, Shilla said. The spring event will run until 23 May.

The first theme event at IPark is titled ‘shopping gift’ and customers can participate in shopping “missions” during the day, which Shilla said would run in a fashion similar to collecting stamps from sightseeing spots. Missions include purchases of certain cosmetics or fashion/accessories brands; purchases of certain luxury fashion brands; and purchases of more than US$ 10 or US$200.

Participants can win prepaid shopping cards, while all purchases over US$1 will be rewarded with vouchers.

A second event will be run in conjunction with local entertainment facilities. All customers making a purchase of over US$1 at the main store on the day of the event will receive a voucher that can be used at four restaurants in Yongsan IPark Mall.

The Spring Shopping Festival will also feature a lottery prize event and mini concerts.

“As the preference for ‘one-stop shopping culture’, which combines entertainment activities and shopping, has increased, it is important to show differentiated services to meet the expectations of customers,” said Lee Jong-ho, Head of Marketing at Shilla IPark.

“In addition, Shilla IPark offers a fun shopping experience and a shopping festival that provides a variety of dining experiences and cultural activities.”

HDC Shilla Duty Free Shop will also offer a KRW10,000 (US$8.9) prepaid card for all departing domestic customers leaving during the Golden Week season in May. New customers will receive a -20% discount on VIP benefits and a shopping allowance of KRW100,000 (US$88.7), as well as a prepaid card with a value determined by the amount spent.
