UAE. Sharon Beecham, Director of Purchasing and Merchandising for Nuance-Watson North Asia, is returning to Dubai Duty Free (which she left in April 2008) as Manager – Purchasing.
She joins a purchasing department that has been restructured in line with Dubai Duty Free’s recent expansion and growth. As a result of the opening of the new Emirates Terminal 3 late last year, the retail operation has doubled in size to 15,000sq m.
Saba Tahir heads the expanded Purchasing team as Acting Manager of Purchasing and Research. Fiona Nagi is Manager – Purchasing and is joined by Sharon Beecham in a similar role, with both managers taking responsibility for specific categories. Before assuming her role at Nuance-Watson North Asia in Hong Kong, Sharon Beecham worked for Dubai Duty Free for ten years.
Commenting on the new structure, Dubai Duty Free Managing Director Colm McLoughlin said: “With the growth of the operation over the past year and the subsequent increase in the responsibilities of our Purchasing Team, we felt the need to strengthen the team and restructure the categories in order to streamline the department.
“We welcome Sharon back and I am looking forward to a productive year ahead with all departments.”
