Shanghai Airport Authority seeks partners for Pudong T2 retail concessions

CHINA. Shanghai Airport Authority has issued a tender for retail concessions at Shanghai Pudong International Airport Terminal 2 (domestic) with a deadline of 22 January.

It covers 3,300sq m of space across 38 stores, with the airport seeking to fill multiple product categories.

Among the likely bidders is Orient King Power, a subsidiary of the Antares Cheng-owned King Power Group (Hong Kong), As reported, last year the company expanded its business at Shanghai Pudong Airport with a flurry of key fashion and luxury store openings.

General Manager Mackintosh Feng told The Moodie Davitt Report that Orient King Power would target the new T2 concessions.

He said: “It will give us space to introduce more brands into the domestic airside area of Pudong and serve more airlines’ passengers. In T1 we mainly have China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines, and in T2 we’ll have Air China and China Southern Airlines.”
