Second Glenrothes Exclusive Single Cask Series release bottled exclusively for Heathrow

Edrington has today (4 December) released the second bottling from The Glenrothes Exclusive Single Cask Series solely at Heathrow Airport.

Just 274 individually-numbered bottles of the 19yo whisky have been released and these are available across Dufry’s World Duty Free and World of Whiskies stores at the London airport for £185 (US$242).

The Exclusive Single Cask Collection is a series from The Glenrothes Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion, who has chosen a small selection of casks to be bottled as single casks. This second release, #8190, is drawn from a bourbon-seasoned American oak cask filled 21 June 1999; the whisky has aromatic spices and rich cherries.

Edrington Europe, Middle East & Africa Travel Retail Managing Director Jeremy Speirs said: “Based on the incredible response to the launch of our first Exclusive Single Cask for World Duty Free, it’s clear that this format resonates strongly with consumers seeking out unique, collectable products in travel retail. We’re delighted to partner once again with World Duty Free and present the second exclusive bottling of The Glenrothes in its excellent World of Whiskies stores.”

Dufry Global Head of Liquor David de Miguel added: “Following the huge success of the first Exclusive Single Cask release earlier this year, we anticipate that the second release will generate equally strong interest among whisky consumers. This unique type of product generates real excitement in our stores and underscores our mission to provide travellers with the opportunity to take home exceptional products.”
