New look: Alitalia is listing the new Lacoste Links women’s watch from October

UK. Scorpio Travel Retail Sales, the ground shop arm of Scorpio Distributors, has gained new regional listings following a successful TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore, as buyers showed interest in its Just plush line, Time Design gift sets, Aviator watches, Formula 1 gifts and Gamze Electronic toys.

The Flying Emporium at Kuala Lumpur International Airport is taking a Just gondola display with a full range of product, and Eraman in Malaysia has ordered a Just gondola display, Gamze gondola display and personalised area for Pierre Cardin, Time Design and Aviator.

“The show went exceptionally well for us,” enthused Scorpio Travel Retail Sales Director Garry Stoner, “and apart from the above we have more than eight solid prospects across the Asia Pacific region, including Australia, which is fantastic.”

Scorpio Distributors Group Sales Director Richard Kennedy added that for the company as a whole, TFWA Asia Pacific more than lived up to expectations with an excellent response from buyers to new product launches, particularly the Aviator watch and Pierre Cardin gift sets plus Gear 4 and Power Traveller electronics and travel products. In addition, Scorpio carried out a “˜soft’ launch of an updated Lacoste watch range; the main introduction is planned for the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes this October.

“As a direct result, Alitalia has now listed the new Lacoste Links ladies watch from October 1,” said Kennedy. “We are delighted with the new-look Lacoste collection; it’s very strong, very modern, and perfect for inflight. We expect the brand to be a major highlight at TFWA World Exhibition this year.”

In other news, KLM has extended its Police brand listings with three new items: a watch, men’s jewellery, and sunglasses. Onboard since May, all three have shot into the top three selling items within their categories, Scorpio revealed.

Meanwhile, Scorpio Business Development Director Alan Edwards reported continued success with its fragrance and cosmetics business, with strong listings for all of its exclusive distribution customers – L’Oréal Prestige, Elizabeth Arden and L’Occitane – for the spring/summer season.

“In addition, Condor Ferries, the exclusive perfume and cosmetic agreement with Gebr Heinemann which is managed by Scorpio, is now in full swing and we are looking forward to the start of the main holiday season.”
