Safe Bag strikes luggage services deal at Katowice-Pyrzowice International Airport

POLAND. Luggage protection and tracing services specialist Safe Bag has signed a temporary contract to supply its services at Katowice-Pyrzowice International Airport. There are currently no luggage wrapping and protection services available at the airport, which is Poland’s third biggest by passenger volume.

Safe Bag will begin operations in May on a provisional basis until the end of October, to test the response to the service in the airport’s two terminals. This may then lead to a long-term partnership.

“Since we entered Warsaw Airport on a permanent basis last May, we have seen a growing interest in our integrated range of services on the part of other Polish airports,” said Safe Bag CEO Alessandro Notari. “The Katowice contract is a practical example of a modular partnership designed to bring benefits for both parties involved.”

Katowice-Pyrzowice Airport handled around 3.2 million passengers in 2016, and traffic has surged by +21.1% to date in 2017. It has two terminals, one for domestic flights and the other for international.

Safe Bag provides services from luggage wrapping to lost baggage tracing to travel products and accessories. It has airport outlets in Italy, France, Portugal, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Poland and Brazil (with Peru to come), covering around 100 points of sale.
