PHILIPPINES. Safe Bag has signed a five-year contract to provide luggage protection and tracing services at Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

The airport is the second busiest in the Philippines, with approximately 10 million passengers in 2017, and growth of around +9% projected in 2018. Safe Bag said further growth is expected in the second half of this year following the opening of Mactan-Cebu’s new terminal.

Earlier this month Safe Bag completed the acquisition of 51% of the PackandFly Group. Founded in 2011, PackandFly Group offers luggage wrapping services predominantly in the Russian Federation, and also operates across Europe and Asia. It has a presence in 24 airports with 60 points of sale and an expected 2017 group turnover of €16 million.

Safe Bag CEO Alessandro Notari said: “PackandFly represents for the group a bridgehead to support a new expansion phase in Asia, where our services are highly appreciated.”

Safe Bag President Rudolph Gentile commented: “The network and new commercial relations coming from PackandFly are fundamental for the development of SOS in the continent of Asia, the geographical area with the highest number of airport passengers at world level and with the highest expected growth”.
