Royal Agio Cigars partners with Dubai Duty Free for Balmoral Añejo XO launch

Royal Agio Cigars has partnered with Dubai Duty Free to launch its Balmoral Añejo XO Gran Perfecto FT limited edition in global travel retail.

The exclusive launch was part of a two-week long campaign which featured 50 boxes of the Gran Perfecto FT range. The promotion resulted in a 40% sales increase for the brand’s premium Balmoral Añejo XO range.

Balmoral Añejo XO Gran Perfecto FT Limited Edition takes its place among the “latest and greatest” products featured by Dubai Duty Free.

The campaign targeted travellers during the airport’s Chinese New Year festival month, which took place from 5 to 19 February. All selected cigar boxes, which contain ten handmade cigars and are priced at US$150, featured the number ‘8’, which symbolises prosperity and good fortune in Chinese culture.

Royal Agio Cigars Global Travel Retail Manager Gertrude Stormink said: “Dubai is an important international hub for global travel with more than 88 million passengers on a yearly basis.

“Over the past few years our partnership with Dubai Duty Free has helped build the premium hand and machine-made cigars category in the region, so we’re thrilled to have offered this special release exclusively to their customers.”

The launch resulted in a 40% sales increase for Royal Agio Cigars’ premium Balmoral Añejo XO range.

Dubai Duty Free Senior Vice President Purchasing Saba Tahir underlined the retailer’s commitment to provide shoppers with the “latest and greatest” products. She said Dubai Duty Free’s partnership with Royal Agio Cigars supported that mission.

“It’s great to see our customers genuinely appreciate this premium, limited-edition handmade cigar and we are looking forward to releasing more exciting cigar offerings in the future,” Tahir added.
