Rodenstock unveils new additions to summer eyewear collection

Rodenstock, the German manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses and spectacles frames, has added new designs to its summer eyewear range.

The brand has introduced new models to its T-Style Attitude correction series, with 50s-inspired models R7080 and R7081 for women and R7082 and R7083 for men. Features include high-quality titanium and a special patented plastic, and the decorative elements of the models are fastened with real rivets.

The summer eyewear range features the Die Lady R Sun (above), and in order below: the Retro Classic Rimless and the Zeitgeist Sun.

In related news, Rodenstock’s Retro Classic series has been expanded with the addition of the Retro Classic Rimless model. It features titanium temples combined with a frameless modern lens shape.

The eyewear brand’s Lady R Sun series now includes the Die Lady R Sun, a reissue of a model that was worn in the 1960s by actress Senta Berger. The model’s wrought acetate frames are combined with an “elaborately-crafted” facet, Rodenstock said.

Smart technology, in the form of a ‘Roll Hinge’, is a standout feature of the new 60s-inspired men’s Rodenstock Roll Hinge 2.0 series. The Roll Hinge is a hinge with an integrated screw that “provides especially smooth mobility”, according to the manufacturer. The model combines stainless steel and ultra-light plastic.

Another new introduction to Rodenstock’s summer collection is the Zeitgeist Sun series, which features modern frame colours that are matched to the colours of lenses from the Rodenstock Tint portfolio.

There is also an addition to the rocco by Rodenstock series in the form of the Monaco Vice model, new shield sunglasses that the manufacturer says have been designed in a 1980s style while capturing “current international catwalk trends”.

Rodenstock Director Global Retail & Optical Key Accounts Petra Eckhardt-Koestler said: “The new styles are absolutely ideal for travel retail, we have designs suitable for all destinations. Our creative team have put together a collection that appeals to all, combining the most popular fashion trends with the latest materials and technologies to create the ultimate summer collection.”
