SWEDEN. Monika Dagberg has joined R&F Travel Retail as General Manager. She moves to the Stena Line affiliate company from Swedish retailer Granngården, where she held the position of E-Commerce Director.
Dagberg, who began her duties with R&F on 1 January, has also previously occupied roles as Managing Director of Online Brands Nordic AB (Hedbergs Guld & Önskefoto) and Business Unit Director Publishing & Media at Egmont.
Dagberg reports to Stena Line Travel & Retail Group Managing Director Jari Virtanen.
Welcoming Dagberg’s appointment, Virtanen said: “We are very happy to have been able to recruit an experienced leader like Monika with a strong background in retail to our company.
“As the travel retail industry is changing and digitalisation is becoming an integrated and significant part of both the customer experience and our ability to scale our business seamlessly to new markets, Monika’s strong background in ecommerce will strengthen the company going forward.”
Dagberg said: “I feel humble and honoured to have been given the opportunity to work with R&F, a great company with highly competent people and a high growth potential. With the customer in focus and a digital mindset, we will continue to develop R&F into the future of travel retail.”
As reported, R&F Travel Retail opened its first standalone airport store at Cologne Bonn Airport last year, offering duty paid goods ranging from wines & spirits to fragrances & cosmetics, confectionery, toys and fashion.
The company has been a supplier to shipping companies, embassies and airports for over 40 years.
