“Representing our vision of global beauty” – Estée Lauder signs Anok Yai as new global spokesmodel

US beauty house Estée Lauder (the flagship brand of The Estée Lauder Companies) today announced the signing of Anok Yai as its latest Global Spokesmodel.

Ms Yai will feature in make-up and skincare campaigns across digital, TV, in-store and print. Her first campaign will be for the brand’s number one foundation, Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup, debuting August.

She joins the current roster of Estée Lauder spokesmodels, Misty Copeland, Grace Elizabeth, Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, Yang Mi, Carolyn Murphy, Hilary Rhoda, Joan Smalls and Fei Fei Sun.

About Anok Yai

Anok Yai hails from Egypt. The daughter of Sudanese refugee parents, she moved to the United States in 2000. She has plans to become a doctor and empower young girls to pursue STEM fields.

Ms Yai is known for making headlines. She was the first black model to open the Prada runway show in 20 years. Discovered after Instagram images of her went viral at college homecoming celebrations in Washington, DC, Ms Yai became the centre of global media attention.

Contacted by several top modelling agencies, she found home at NEXT Model Management where she is signed globally. A week after signing, Ms Yai confirmed the leading role in Prada’s Spring/Summer 2018 campaign photographed by Willy Vanderperre and shortly afterwards became the face of the Riccardo Tisci x Nike collaboration.

She appears on the cover of DAZED’s Summer 2018 issue and has additionally been photographed for American Vogue, V Magazine, Vogue Italia, British Vogue, POP Magazine, AnOther Magazine and Self Service among others. She became the subject for one of Willy Vanderperre’s iconic model series and was selected by DAZED to appear in the DAZED100.
