Sarah Branquinho: Along with regional association presidents will outline the measures taken to help the business restart

INTERNATIONAL. The Duty Free World Council (DFWC) will host a webinar titled ‘Planning to Restart’, in partnership with Airports Council International (ACI) and regional industry associations, on 3 June.

As reported, the aim of the event is to present updates on the current state of the duty free & travel retail industry, review the latest air traffic data courtesy of ACI World and highlight the measures taken by the Council and regional associations to help the business restart.

DFWC President Sarah Branquinho and ACI World Director Economics Patrick Lucas will make keynote presentations. The presidents of the industry’s regional organisations will provide a deeper perspective about their respective regions.

DFWC said: “This event will give a holistic perspective on the current status of the air travel market and recovery forecasts. [It will be] complemented by global and region by region briefings on the activities undertaken to ensure the important contribution the duty free & travel retail industry plays in the broader travel and tourism, aviation and maritime sectors is fully understood and supported under recovery plans being drawn up by global, regional and national authorities.”

Sarah Branquinho said that registrations were running ahead of expectations. The DFWC encouraged industry executives who have not yet signed up to do so in advance.

The webinar will take place on Wednesday 3 June from 14.00–15.30 hrs CET.
