Reminder: Deadline for AAA Retail & Commercial Forum Award nominations falls on 9 June

AUSTRALASIA. The second edition of the Australian Airports Association (AAA) Retail & Commercial Forum – being staged at the Sofitel Brisbane on 17-19 July – is set to feature an expanded awards programme. Nominations are currently being sought with a deadline of 9 June.

The awards take place at the event Gala Dinner, and follow the success of the initiative at last year’s inaugural event.

Organised by the AAA, The Moodie Davitt Report and The Mercurius Group, the Forum brings together key players in the airport non-aeronautical commercial sector from Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

The Sofitel Brisbane (above) will host this year’s Australian Airports Association (AAA) Retail & Commercial Forum. The Queensland Art Gallery (below) will stage the awards dinner.

The 2023 awards programme, sponsored by travel retail industry data analytics firm tRetail Labs*, will feature seven awards across three categories:

Category 1 – Career Achievement

These two awards seek to recognise long term and outstanding contributions from individuals to the airport commercial sector. One award is for airport commercial managers and the other is for concessionaires.

Category 2 – Concessionaire/Airport/Supplier of the Year

These three awards seek to recognise stakeholder feedback on organisations. Airports will be asked to nominate concessionaires and concessionaires will be asked to nominate both airports and suppliers.

  • Airport/Landlord of the Year Award (Nominate here)
  • Supplier of the Year Award (Nominate here)

Category 3 – Team Member Recognition

These two awards seek to recognise the key role of customer-facing and back-of-house team members who have gone above and beyond.

The judging for the seven awards will be carried out by a panel made up of representatives from the AAA, The Moodie Davitt Report and The Mercurius Group.

The awards will be presented at the Forum Gala Dinner on Tuesday 18 July 2023 at the Queensland Art Gallery.

Nominations close 5pm AEST, Friday 9 June 2023.
