Rebecca Mann joins Essential Communications to develop new business and digital media

Back in the industry: Mann has over 20 years’ experience in travel retail

Rebecca Mann will join Essential Communications (EC) on a part-time basis from October. She will handle new business accounts and assist in developing the company’s social media and digital strategy.

Mann has worked in travel retail for over 20 years as a writer, commentator, editor and blogger. She began her career as Fragrances & Cosmetics Editor at Duty-Free News International (DFNI) in 1996, rising to the role of Managing Editor. She joined The Moodie Davitt Report (then The Moodie Report) as Associate Editor in 2003, before being named Executive Director – Editorial in 2013.

Mann left The Moodie Report in 2015 and joined Courthouse Clinics in a B2C freelance role as Marketing Creative Copywriter. She is also a consultant for leading luxury interiors agency Homestyle PR and oversees all social media for Central School of Dance & Drama.

EC Managing Director Row Holland said: “I’ve known Rebecca for many years and am certain she will be a great asset to the EC team. We’re expanding our remit to offer a wider range of marketing services to the travel retail industry and Rebecca’s experience, knowledge and contacts will certainly help us to achieve this.”

As part of EC’s long term expansion strategy, Tilly Holland will divide her time between Essential Communications and a secondment role as Marketing Coordinator at UK retail park and shopping centre developer Hammerson.

“Tilly’s new position will give her extremely valuable retail and brand marketing experience in the wider high street environment which she will be able to bring into the EC offer for existing and new clients, enabling us to create a more rounded, 360° offer,” added Row Holland.

Mann will be attending the TFWA World Exhibition, along with the EC team of Row Holland, Tilly Holland, Ben Holland and Jayne Cooper.
