Readers’ competition with Walsh Whiskey: Will it be Irish or English tears in big racing and rugby head to heads?

INTERNATIONAL. With two of the most watched sporting events in the UK and Ireland set to take place next week, The Moodie Davitt Report has partnered with Walsh Whiskey to offer readers* the chance to guess the results and win prizes from the distiller’s super-premium Writers’ Tears and The Irishman whiskey ranges.

The Cheltenham horse racing festival (16-19 March) and Ireland-England Six Nations rugby match (20 March) carry huge profile in the sporting calendar, with rivalries renewed across the Irish Sea in the same week as Ireland’s national day, St. Patrick’s Day (17 March).

We have created two competitions, for which Walsh Whiskey has generously put forward a brace of prizes: a bottle of The Irishman Single Malt Marsala Cask Finish (an ARI travel retail-exclusive) plus a bottle of Writers’ Tears Copper Pot Japanese Cask Finish (which was initially made available as a travel retail-exclusive through ARI).

Writers’ Tears Japanese Cask Finish (left) was released ahead of the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Will it be Ireland or England fans shedding tears come 20 March? Right is The Irishman Single Malt Marsala Cask Finish, an ARI exclusive.

To win one (or both) of these superb prizes, send us your answer to these questions:

Cheltenham Festival: Which country (UK or Ireland) will have the most winners and what will be the final result? (Closest answer wins the prize. Note: there are 28 races.)

Six Nations Rugby, Ireland v England: Predict the winner and score (Closest to the final score among those who pick the victor correctly wins the prize).

Send your answers by email with the subject line, Racing & Rugby Competition, to: Martin@MoodieDavittReport.com or Dermot@MoodieDavittReport.com by 5pm UK time on Wednesday 17 March (St. Patrick’s Day).

*Entry is open to those working in the travel retail and airport sectors.
