AUSTRALIA. Sydney Airport today launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a new signature bar offering at the T2 Domestic terminal, in line with the company’s commitment to enhancing the passenger experience.

The airport operator said that the hospitality opportunity is integral to the “on-trend” food & beverage offering at T2. The bar will form an “iconic” component of the airport experience and provide a relaxing destination where passengers and visitors can enjoy a range of refreshing beverages, the company added.

Sydney Airport General Manager Retail Glyn Williams said the signature bar offers an exceptional opportunity for strong food & beverage brands to be situated within Australia’s busiest airport terminal and “push new boundaries in today’s dynamic travel environment”.

He added: “This signature bar will be the pinnacle of the food & beverage experience at T2, and we’re looking for an innovative partner with the vision and creativity to deliver a unique and contemporary experience. We’re committed to delivering exceptional food and dining innovations across a range of price points at Sydney Airport.

“We’re excited to evolve the offering at T2 and further enhance the airport experience. I’m looking forward to being wowed by creative and dynamic submissions as part of the process.”

The RFP calls for a “fresh, contemporary and well-executed” bar menu with a range of food options across the day to enhance and complement the beverage experience. An innovative design concept will create a focal point within the terminal.

The new hospitality concept builds on the ongoing transformation at T2. The casual dining precinct now offers a greater range of healthy and tasty food options, and a reconfigured seating area features greater comfort, new furniture and better connectivity.
