QATAR. Qatar Duty Free has teamed with China UnionPay International for a promotion celebrating Chinese New Year.
In it, passengers purchasing Qatar Duty Free fragrances, cosmetics, skincare, confectionery, and other gift items above the value of QR1500 (US$410) using a UnionPay International credit card will be invited to participate in a lucky draw.
They will receive a traditional Chinese red envelope containing a shopping voucher to the value of either QR100, QR150 or QR200 to spend at Qatar Duty Free retail outlets at Hamad International Airport. The vouchers are valid until 9 February 2017.
A dedicated team of Mandarin-speaking ambassadors wearing traditional Chinese dress will welcome travellers to Qatar Duty Free stores during the promotional period. They will highlight the range of promotions on offer.
A red and gold installation featuring 450 lucky waving fortune cats will also be displayed in front of The Airport Hotel in the main departures hall of the airport, offering photo opportunities. Traditional Chinese-inspired adornments and a range of artwork will feature throughout the airport.
