Pre-registration opens for TFWA Asia Pacific event in Singapore

SINGAPORE. The TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference is now open for pre-registration.

This year’s event is once again being held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore, from 12-16 May.

A day-long plenary conference will explore themes such as travel retail’s omnichannel future, the role technology can play in helping improve conversion rates, sustainability, and the future for brands in a hyper-regulated world.

“Asia remains the largest duty free and travel retail region and is continuing to expand at a rapid pace,” said TFWA President Alain Maingreaud. “The latest Generation Research figures show preliminary duty free and travel retail sales in Asia Pacific standing at US$8.9 billion for Q1 2018, up 11.5% year-on-year.

“Buyers from around the world come to TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference to do business, and many leading duty free and travel retail companies have expressed their interest in attending this year’s show – with a number of the industry’s most exciting brands already confirming their participation. I’m certain the new contacts made, as well as the strengthening of ongoing relationships during a busy week, will help to ensure further business success in Asia in 2019 and to the next decade.”

Attendees can also register for TFWA’s ONE2ONE personalised appointment service, through which they can apply for private meetings with other registered delegates.

Social events include a golf tournament and Welcome Cocktail at Fort Canning on 12 May. The Chill-Out Party will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on 14 May, while the Singapore Swing Party will open at Ola Beach, Sentosa Island on 15 May.

Last year’s event attracted 3,194 delegates from across the duty free and travel retail industry, up 3% from 3,087 in 2017.
