THAILAND. Airports of Thailand (AoT) has confirmed Prasong Poontaneat as Chairman, after the government approved his appointment. AoT initially announced the move on 27 January.
Poontaneat takes his new post amid a period of solid growth for passenger traffic and commercial revenues at Thailand’s airports.
As reported, AoT posted a +2.68% rise year-on-year in concession revenues to THB3,302.71 million (US$94.4 million) in the first quarter ended 31 December 2016.
Total non-aeronautical revenue reached THB5,526.73 million (US$158 million) up +10.93% compared to the same period last year.
The total number of passengers for the six airports under Airports of Thailand’s control reached 30.69 million, up +6.11% year-on-year. This comprised 16.52 million international passengers and 14.17 million domestic passengers.
King Power International Group, one of AoT’s key partners, will host this year’s Trinity Forum in Bangkok on 25-27 October.
