Pocket Shop bookstore starts new chapter at Hamburg Airport

GERMANY. Swedish book retailer Pocket Shop is the new tenant at Hamburg Airport’s pop-up store.

Pocket Shop will occupy the space for around six months and offers most German and English-language paperbacks, with some hardbacks available.

The 23sq m pop-up store at Hamburg Airport near Gate A17 was first introduced in September 2016. The first tenant was Samsonite, which sold premium suitcases and bags. The pop-up store, part of Hamburg Airport’s newly designed Pier atmosphere, has been designed to reflect the theme of trade and features typical Hamburg characteristics.

Hamburg Airport Director of Center Management Lutz Deubel said: “The Pocket Shop is a modern, refreshing shop concept which offers our passengers an even more diverse shopping experience. Directly adjacent to the gates, passengers can browse at their leisure and make sure they have the right travel reading. The Pocket Shop is ideal for our pop-up store, which has been very well-received by our customers thanks to the variety it brings.”

Pocket Shop CEO Anna Borné Minberger commented: “We are very happy to open our first Pocket Shop in Hamburg and look forward to introducing our book-loving service-minded staff to all airport guests.”
