Picture Gallery: Shang Xia travel retail prospects lifted by Lane Crawford launch

Hermès-controlled Shang Xia has launched a homeware and accessories range, called The Art of Chinese Living, with upscale Hong Kong retailer Lane Crawford.

A highlight of the collection is a Da Tian Di rocking chair. It is said to echo Ming Dynasty furniture but with lightweight, hi-tech carbon fibre material. Other products include inlaid cabinets, velum screens, eggshell lacquer wares, cashmere sweaters and card game sets.

Shang Xia is described as a furniture and lifestyle brand which offers a “re-imagining of Chinese techniques and customs”. Its range also includes jewellery and fashion for men and women.

Shang Xia Vice President for Travel Retail & Wholesale in Asia Pacific Tina Tam aims to develop the brand in key growth channels. She spoke about Shang Xia and its potential in travel retail in an interview with The Moodie Davitt Report.
