Perfumist enters exclusive partnership with major French perfumery schools

FRANCE. Innovative fragrance app Perfumist has sealed an exclusive partnership with three leading French perfumery schools.

The collaboration includes the Superior School of Perfume (ESP), the Grasse Institute of Perfumery (GIP), and the International Institute Superior of Perfume, Cosmetics and Aromatics (ISIPCA) which are based in Grasse and Paris.

With 2 million downloads worldwide, the Perfumist, which was founded by Frederick Besson*, is the leading perfume advisor app. With over 55,000 perfumes from 2,000 brands, it helps consumers choose their ideal fragrance by ingredient, brand, gender or price in over 40 languages.

According to the partners, Perfumist was keen to join forces with the French fragrance experts to enable students to join the app’s assessment programme and become an integral part of the perfume-choosing process.

Any perfume brand can now have its creations assessed by students. They will be advised by experienced perfumers – independent or working in major fragrance houses such as Givaudan, Firmenich, IFF and Symrise – professional testers, teachers and professors.

Budding perfumers will now become part of the Perfumist perfume-choosing process

Evaluations will be integrated into the Perfumist app with the aim of creating better, more personalised recommendations and improving the information provided to fragrance consumers.

The new partnership is said to enable the meeting and exchange “between generations of noses and testers and advances the perfume industry, from Grasse and Paris, everywhere in the world”.

It also provides a “great opportunity to promote a better knowledge of the professional industry and to facilitate the integration of students in the professional world”.
