Perfetti van Melle introduces limited-edition Mega Chup to Asia Pacific travel retail

Perfetti van Melle Global Travel Retail will highlight new products, including a limited-edition Mega Chup, at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore next month (Basement 2, E29).

The products will be supported by a new merchandising unit and on-stand activations.

Targeting the teens: The new limited-edition Lollipop Art Mega Chup

The Lollipop Art Mega Chup holds 15 fruit-flavoured lollipops. The product, inspired by the Pop Art movement, targets the gifting market for teens and young adults and will be available in Q2 of this year.

The ‘Do You Love Me?’ Chupa Chups range aims to increase brand awareness amongst teens. It includes a resealable bag of 25-fruit flavoured Chupa Chups.

Perfetti van Melle will also showcase the travel shopping-exclusive Mentos Connecting Tin containing 275g of fruit-flavoured dragees. The packaging and dragees are decorated with multilingual greetings and landmarks which aim to offer a “fun and educational” tool for younger travellers interested in learning foreign languages.

Perfetti van Melle’s Mentos-themed selfie wall, showcased at last year’s TFWA World Exhibition and at last month’s Summit of the Americas in Orlando, will feature on the brand’s stand in Singapore.

Perfetti van Melle’s new suitcase-style stand is designed to offer 360-degree in-store visibility

New display units include a Mentos and Chupa Chups branded suitcase, designed to secure 360-degree in-store visibility. A prototype of the 80cm x 80cm unit, which targets limited retail space, will be on-display at the exhibition.

Commenting on the company’s performance in ASPAC travel retail, Perfetti van Melle Area Manager Travel Retail Asia Benedict Ho said: “Perfetti van Melle has performed reasonably better than the category in the region during 2017 and also for the first two months in 2018.

“I expect challenges due to the changing dynamics of Chinese travellers as they seek more excitement in the product offerings, but I am optimistic as a whole because of the generally positive economic outlook.”
