Peace Bridge Duty Free’s Jim Pearce scoops top prize in Duty Free Global quiz

Peace Bridge Duty Free General Manager Jim Pearce has scooped the top prize of a bottle of Taylors Wakefield The Visionary Cabernet Sauvignon (pictured) in a quiz set by Duty Free Global (DFG).

The wines & spirits brand representative hosted a fun virtual quiz and cocktail for visitors to the Virtual Travel Retail Expo last week. After answering a series of (tough) quiz questions on the wines & spirits business, Pearce emerged on top, with a bottle of the superb Cabernet Sauvignon now on its way to him in Canada.

Guests to the Duty Free Global Platinum Suite could also (and still can through the 30-day encore following the ‘live’ event) discover more about the Taylors and Wakefield wines that are being launched into duty free.

The Visionary 2014, an exceptional parcel release of 2014 Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, was awarded ‘World’s Best Cabernet’ at the Concours International des Cabernets (International Competition of Cabernets) in 2018.

As reported, in advance of the Virtual Travel Retail Expo, The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie tasted The Visionary and two other outstanding company wines: Taylors Heritage Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 and Wakefield Cabernet Sauvignon 2017. All of them hail from the group’s three-generation Clare Valley homeland in South Australia.

He did so in the company of Justin Taylor, Company Director and Asia Pacific Market Manager (and third-generation family winery member); Chris Davis, National Business Development Manager, Wakefield Wines; and Barry Geoghegan, Founder of Dublin-based Duty Free Global, partner of Taylors in global travel retail.
