Patriotism personified: Qatar Airways shows its solidarity with the State of Qatar

QATAR.  Qatar Airways has demonstrated its support for and solidarity with the State of Qatar by installing a huge patriotic canvas image of the country’s leader, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in front of the airline’s corporate headquarters.

Thousands of Qatar Airways’ employees are expected to support the initiative, prompted by the ongoing blockade against the State of Qatar.

A canvas signing event yesterday was inaugurated by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker. Qatar Airways staff members were invited to sign the  canvas to show their support.

The event was attended by Hamad International Airport Chief Operating Officer Eng. Badr Al Meer, senior Qatar Airways management, Qatari social media influencers and Qatari singer and Qatar Airways Ambassador Fahad Al Qubaisi.

Al Baker commented: “This signing event marks a very proud moment for us here at Qatar Airways, as we celebrate our unity in the midst of this unprecedented blockade against my country.

“The State of Qatar will continue to strive, expand, and excel in all areas, and we as an airline will also follow the same path, because we don’t believe in boundaries, we believe in bringing people together. We will continue to fly the skies, and we will continue to go places together.”

In response to the current flight bans, the airline’s recently launched its No Borders, Only Horizons television and social media commercial.
