PATA Travel Recovery Dashboard paints encouraging improvement in Asia Pacific travel prospects

ASIA PACIFIC. The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has released its latest Travel Recovery Dashboard (TRD) for the region. It shows an improving picture for inbound and outbound travel across Asia Pacific.

Of the 20 destinations covered by the dashboard, only two countries remain which are restricting the two types of travel. They are China (including China’s Special Administrative Region Macau) and Japan.

The TRD also gives an update on COVID-19 vaccination rates across the destinations. Bhutan heads the field with 90.7% of its population vaccinated, followed by China at 90.2%.

The other countries which now have vaccination rates above 80% include Australia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.

The country featured on the TRD with the lowest vaccination rate is Azerbaijan at 48.2%.
